Sharon Osbourne’s put up with a lot from her estranged husband, 67-year-old rocker Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath. Substance abuse, alcohol-fueled violent behavior, self-destruction and most recently, a widely publicized affair with Hollywood hairdresser Michelle Pugh – now, Sharon’s found her strength and for the first time in her life is learning what a healthy relationship looks and feels like in the weeks following her exit from her 34 year marriage to Ozzy.

Of course, she still loves him – 40 years together total, 3 children and a career will do that – but when asked if she’d take him back, Sharon made one thing absolutely clear: respect is a two way street and the respect that Ozzy has demanded of her over 4 decades is expected to be reciprocated if he wants any hope of ever getting back together.

“You don’t want to be a woman who shows your girls you stay together no matter what – he can beat you, be a drunk, be a womanizer, but you stay with him. No. That’s not healthy. That’s not good.”

“We created a successful business together. I don’t want to hurt him. I admire and respect him. And that’s what I expect back: respect. I didn’t get that,” Sharon revealed to the Los Angeles Times.

Wow – you go, Sharon! Love and marriage are wonderful things, but without respect for each other and for your relationship, making it work is very nearly impossible. Sharon’s journey as a single woman is just beginning, but we’re so proud of her for finally realizing that she deserves a life full of love and a healthy relationship firmly based on mutual respect and admiration for each other and refusing to settle for anything less!
