Sebastian Bach Age-Old Debate If Rock Is Dead

In a recent interview with RockCellar, former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach pushed back against the idea that rock music is fading.
When asked if rock is “on the wane,” Bach responded with confidence: “My video has over 1.5 million views. None of that applies to me. None of it.” He added:
“I just played 45 cities, and I’m about to do another 45 cities. If that’s rock being dead, take me out in the back and shoot me.”
The video he’s referring to is for his latest track, “What Do I Got to Lose?” from his new album, Child Within The Man. With a strong following and active touring schedule, Bach clearly feels that rock is far from over.
The Story Behind Child Within The Man
Bach’s new album title, Child Within The Man, stems from an inside joke between him and his wife. “Well, my wife calls me a man-child,” he shared during an interview with Full Metal Jackie. “That’s kind of been a theme for me my whole career. I bring a youthful energy to the stage when I get up there. People are smiling, excited, hooting, and hollering.”
He explained that the album title came from a lyric in one of the songs.
“The line ‘child within the man’ is a part of one of the songs on the record, and I scream it like bloody murder. It kept haunting me.”
Bach’s Tour Is in Full Swing
Currently, Bach is on tour in support of Child Within The Man, which kicked off on October 4 in Portland, Oregon. The tour includes stops at the famous Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood and 16 dates across Canada, wrapping up on November 20 in Roseville, California. It’s clear that for Sebastian Bach, rock is not only alive but thriving.
