Scorpions’ Rise and Cold War Anthem Take Center Stage

Wind of Change will chronicle the Scorpions’ path to worldwide fame and highlight the band’s desire to unite people through music. Central to the story is their global hit “Wind of Change,” inspired by their performance at the 1989 Moscow Music Peace Festival, which drew a crowd of 300,000.

The song, written by Klaus Meine, captured the spirit of hope and transformation as the Cold War was nearing its end.

Filming Underway with 2025 Release Planned

Directed by Alex Ranarivelo, the film is currently shooting in London and is produced by ESX Entertainment for Fox Entertainment Studios, in partnership with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The movie is scheduled for a 2025 U.S. theatrical release.

Ali Afshar, founder and president of ESX Entertainment, spoke about the personal significance of the project and praised the team behind it. Afshar said:

“It’s been an unbelievable journey developing this film and bringing it to life feels surreal.
“Not only did the Scorpions’ music help me get through tremendous difficulties as an Iranian immigrant in America in the early 80’s, but their message of love, peace and rock ‘n’ roll seems more relevant today than ever. This cast is an amazing ensemble of truly great talent. I can’t thank Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment enough for their support and especially the band — Rudolf, Klaus and Matthias — for believing in us and trusting us to tell their life story.”
