Santana feat. Steven Tyler – ‘Just Feel Better’
Rock legends team up for ‘Just Feel Better’!
I didn’t know how badly I wanted a Santana and Aerosmith collaboration until I heard ‘Just Feel Better’. Steven Tyler is such a fantastic match for Santana musically, and I love the theatricality of Steven’s vocals against Santana’s guitars – over the top guitar skills require an over the top voice, right?
The video for ‘Just Feel Better’ is about a teenager with a wealth of issues plaguing her; a strained relationship with her mother, a teacher making advances toward her, and losing her boyfriend in a car crash.
Literally, she’d do anything to ‘just feel better’ and I think everyone can empathize with that feeling.
A second version of ‘Just Feel Better’ exists, but featuring vocals from Wes Scantlin of Puddle of Mudd. Santana felt Steven Tyler’s version held more emotion, but loves them both!
We agree! Steven Tyler’s got a special way of tugging at your emotions – good and bad – and he’s awesome at letting his experiences color his voice when he sings.
Santana’s got such a knack for showcasing talent on his records that compliments him beautifully. We can’t wait to see what he does next!
