Santana – “Africa Bamba” Live
Santana’s Versatility Showcased in “Supernatural!”
“Africa Bamba” was written by Santana, Touré Kunda, and Karl Perazzo. This 17th album earned several awards and praises both from fans and critics:
- 15x Platinum in the US
- Won 9 Grammy Awards
- Sold more than 30 million copies worldwide
- Number 19 on the Billboard 200
Carlos has always celebrated the brotherhood of man, embracing not only ethnic and cultural diversity, but a wide range of musical styles as well. It is in this spirit that he joined forces with two of the founding members of African band Toure Kunda to produce the joyous “Africa Bamba.”
It has a relaxing but incredible groove and it also has that feel-good vibe especially with Santana’s amazing guitar solos.
Santana’s playing is tasty from start to finish. He switches back and forth between nylon acoustic guitar (with which he opens the song) and electric — his Paul Reed Smith guitar tone set for medium distortion, to enhance the dynamics of his licks.
