It’s all for charity!
For the fourth consecutive year, Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar, and Metallica’s James Hetfield, are hosting their annual Acoustic 4 A Cure. The concert raises money for pediatric cancer research, and is one of the few highlights of the year in classic rock.
“The benefit was created by Bay Area rock legends Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield, whose vision was to raise needed funds and awareness for the pediatric cancer research by throwing a must-see concert for fans and donating all of the proceeds to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.” – Acoustic 4 A Cure website
This year, the lineup boasts some pretty big names! Unfortunately, Hetfield will have to sit the show out due to prior commitments with Metallica. Instead, Foo Fighter’s frontman Dave Grohl will sit in for him. Other names on the bill include Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Mick Fleetwood, Steve Vai, Don Felder, Vic Johnson, Sarah McLachlan and Bob Weir.
The event is set to take place May 15th at the Filmore in San Francisco, and tickets are open to the public. They go on sale this Friday (March 31st), and start at $150 for general admission tickets. This ticket will get you into the event, as well as a t-shirt. VIP packages are available, and start at $500. These include exclusive access, free food and drinks, a t-shirt and more perks.
