Slow Down? Not The Rolling Stones!

While most iconic bands are planning farewell tours, The Rolling Stones show no signs of slowing down! 2015 is proving to be a busy year for the boys; a major North American 15-city tour, a special reissue of their 1971 hit album Sticky Fingers, and now an extremely rare concert film of their 1971 London performance entitled, From the Vault: The Marquee – Live in 1971. It sure seems like the sky’s the limit, and Keith Richards says he wants to see just how far the band can go:

“…I’d like to see just how far they can evolve. I have no demands or particular visions for them, but you’re just part of this thing and I want to see how far it will go.”Keith Richards

Released in 1971, The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers is widely considered a masterpiece. Featuring hit songs like ‘Brown Sugar’ and ‘Dead Flowers’, the Sticky Fingers reissue will contain previously unreleased tracks including a special edition of ‘Brown Sugar’ featuring Eric Clapton; that alone is enough to make me want to run right out and grab a copy!

Fun fact: The Rolling Stones From the Vault: The Marquee – Live in 1971 details the London concert a few months before the release of Sticky Fingers. The show was used to preview nearly half the album, and was the last time The Rolling Stones would perform in the UK for over two years! It’s also the first and only time the boys performed ‘I Got the Blues’ live until dusting it off in 1999 for a handful of tour dates.

We’re so excited to see The Rolling Stones are still going strong! We can’t wait to see them live this summer on their Zip Code tour, and we’ll definitely be picking up our copies of Sticky Fingers and From the Vault: The Marquee – Live in 1971, too!

In the meantime, check out this exclusive footage of The Rolling Stones performing ‘Dead Flowers’ at The Marquee – it’s absolutely amazing!

+++++ LYRICS BELOW +++++

Well when you’re sitting there in your silk upholstered chair
Talkin’ to some rich folk that you know
Well I hope you won’t see me in my ragged company
Well, you know I could never be alone

Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you’re the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won’t forget to put roses on your grave

Well when you’re sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac
Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day
Ah, I’ll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon
And another girl to take my pain away

Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you’re the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won’t forget to put roses on your grave

Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you’re the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail
Say it with dead flowers in my wedding
And I won’t forget to put roses on your grave
No, I won’t forget to put roses on your grave
