A Merry Duo

Although Michael Bublé is this new generation’s “Frank Sinatra,” his melodic match with the great Rod Stewart is surprisingly stunning as their pitch combination compliments the best parts of each voice. Being one of the most beautiful Christmas songs out there, the two gentlemen perform it with effortless grace.

“Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane, snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight, walking in a winter wonderland…”

Written in 1934 by Richard B. Smith and Felix Bernard, “Winter Wonderland” is a beautiful song with a beautiful story about a magical white Christmas with a silly snowman. The tune is not only pleasant, but each of us have fantasized about building a snowman that comes to life after watching the Frosty the Snowman special on TV.

Interesting Fact: The lyricist Richard Smith served as an editor of a newspaper before taking up a career in music. The composer Felix Bernard, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, played the piano with popular orchestras and was also a tap dancer and writer of musical comedies for Vaudeville.

It is no secret that both of these men know their way around a mic, so to see the wonderful duo between the two really is breathtaking. We hope you have a winter wonderland Christmas whether it’s real snow or you have to use your imagination! Enjoy!

+ Winter Wonderland Lyrics +

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song, as we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He’ll say, “Are you married?”
We’ll say, “No man”
But you can do the job, when you’re in town

Later on, we’ll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid, the plans that we’ve made
Walking in a winter wonderland

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song, as we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
And pretend that he’s a circus clown
We’ll have lots of fun with Mister Snowman
Yes, until the all the kids knock him down

And later on,we’ll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid, the plans that we’ve made
Walking in a winter wonderland
Walking in a winter wonderland
