Robert Plant Is Back With A New Album “Saving Grace”

Robert Plant is set to release his first new album since 2021’s Raise the Roof, his collaboration with Alison Krauss. The upcoming record, titled Saving Grace, is due out on September 26 and marks Plant’s first solo project since 2017’s Carry Fire.

The album, which includes nine tracks, was recorded with his band of the same name — Saving Grace — and features covers of songs by Moby Grape (“It’s a Beautiful Day Today”), Blind Willie Johnson (“Soul of a Man”), and the Low Anthem (“Ticket Taker”).

Fans can already listen to their rendition of “Everybody’s Song” by Minnesota indie group Low. Plant has previously explored Low’s material, having covered “Silver Rider” and “Monkey” on his 2010 album Band of Joy.

A New Band, A Familiar Voice

Saving Grace is Plant’s 12th solo album and is named after the group he’s been performing with over the past six years. The band includes vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, multi-instrumentalist Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown.

In a press statement, Plant reflected on the dynamics within the group:

“We laugh a lot, really. I think that suits me. I like laughing… I’m not jaded. The sweetness of the whole thing — these are sweet people, and they’re finally playing the music they’ve always wanted to. They’ve become distinctive players, and somehow we’ve landed in a pretty special place together.”

First-Ever U.S. Tour for Saving Grace

After years of touring across the UK and Europe, Plant and Saving Grace will hit the road in North America for the first time later this year.

Their U.S. tour kicks off on October 30 in Wheeling, West Virginia, and continues through more than a dozen cities, including New York, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, and Seattle. The tour will wrap up on November 22 with a final performance in Los Angeles.
