Beatles Classic with a Surprise Guest
Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed an 11-song set at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Jack White, who also played his own set that day, joined Starr to close the night with a spirited version of The Beatles’ 1967 classic “With A Little Help From My Friends.”
White added his voice to the famous Lennon-McCartney chorus while his current bandmates Patrick Keeler, Bobby Emmett, and Dominic Davis sang along. Singer-songwriter Sammy Rae also stepped in, giving the finale a rich, layered sound. Starr thanked the audience as the music faded, saying, “I want to thank everyone for joining me on stage this evening. It’s been really great. Thanks for being a great audience. Remember the music. Peace and love! I love you all.”

All-Starr Highlights
Earlier in the show, Starr invited members of his touring group to showcase their own hits. Steve Lukather of Toto led renditions of “Rosanna” and “Hold The Line.” Colin Hay of Men At Work performed “Down Under,” and Hamish Stuart of Average White Band played “Pick Up The Pieces.” The collaborative spirit matched the festival’s wide-ranging lineup.
This was not the first time White and Starr shared a stage. In January, White joined Starr at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium for the Ringo & Friends At The Ryman TV special. A few months earlier, White performed live with Paul McCartney in Mexico City during the Corona Capital festival.
Jack White’s Beatles Connection
White has long expressed admiration for The Beatles and occasionally stirs debate about rock history. In a 2022 interview, he remarked that “The Rolling Stones were chasing a hit constantly and feeding off whatever the hippest thing was, copying whatever The Beatles did last week.” His appearance with Starr adds another chapter to his ongoing link with the legendary band’s members.
