It Was Bound To Happen At Some Point…

Since the news broke just under two years ago that Brian Johnson would be stepping down as front man for AC/DC due to a developing hearing problem, the band has continued touring with Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose filling Brian’s shoes and the reactions have been mixed, thus far. Some fans are on board with Axl as part of the band, most are obviously not. But the mixed reactions of fans haven’t stopped the Rock & Roll Train. In fact, quite the contrary!

It’s been supposedly confirmed by Rose Tattoo front man Angry Anderson and longtime AC/DC biographer/Australian music journalist Murray Engleheart that AC/DC are indeed working on a new album with Axl Rose as their singer. Angry Anderson said this to The Rock Pit

“I was talking to Angus earlier last year when we were opening for Guns N’ Roses – Angus and I were asked to do the encores and I said to him, ‘What are you going to do?’ and he said, ‘Mate I’m writing a new album.’ I thought, ‘Cool,’ so I asked him who was in the band and he said, ‘Axl’.”

Here is what Murray Engleheart said via a Facebook post…

“Speculate all you want but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: AC/DC will continue with Axl on vocals – new album, touring, the whole nine yards. What was a massive gamble by Angus turned out to be an equally enormous triumph that has set the scene for the future.”

As of right now, we don’t know when AC/DC will head into the studio, let alone plan to release the album. But what’re your thoughts? Are you excited about this new album with Axl Rose? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
