Yes He Is

When you think of legendary rock band KISS you may first think of Gene Simmons being the leader of the band and franchise, but what you may not actually know is that it’s actually frontman Paul Stanley that runs the KISS ship. He calls the shots and is the deciding factor in a lot of crucial decisions for the band, thus he is the true leader of the band. He’s the brains behind the whole operation.

Though many people may not know this, KISS are never secretive about it and it goes without saying that their massive worldwide success is all thanks to their fearless leader Paul.

Paul himself is never really outspoken about this, but he knows it to be true, and he’s not afraid to admit it. In fact, during a recent interview with Guitar World, he went into detail about what it means to be the foundation of his band, particularly from a musical standpoint. Here is what he said…

“I think that I’ve always managed to be the foundation and the core of what we build together. For example, in the past when we’ve tried cutting a basic track without me, once I put my guitar on we usually find out that we have to recut it. Because there’s a swing to what I do.

“So I’m a big believer in the absolute necessity of a great rhythm guitar to not only hold this kind of music together but to propel it forward. And propelling it forward doesn’t necessarily mean being ahead of it. A great rhythm guitarist basically leans on the drums. You’re closer to being on the backbeat then you are to being in front of it.”

Despite what you might think of KISS, you have to agree that not only is Paul Stanley the foundation of the band, but him being the foundation is what has made KISS into the rock & roll juggernaut that it is today.

Do you folks agree that he is the foundation of the band? If so, let us know in the comments!
