Music lovers Anton Greve and Sam Bok recently marked a milestone in a way that perfectly blended romance and rock history. The couple got engaged during a visit to Birmingham, England—the birthplace of Black Sabbath.

The proposal happened on the Broad Street canal bridge, a tribute to the legendary band. The site features a bench displaying photos of the original lineup: Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Adding to the poignancy, the bench also serves as a memorial for Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22.

A Rock ‘n’ Roll Proposal

Sharing the news on Instagram, Bok captured the excitement of the moment:

“WE GOT ENGAGED ON THE BLACK SABBATH BRIDGE! What I thought would be a simple day trip to Birmingham, tracing Ozzy’s footsteps, turned into the happiest day of my life.”

She went on to praise Greve’s thoughtful preparation: “The love of my life proposed to me on the Black Sabbath Bridge, in front of Ozzy and the band, and even surprised me with the rings I’ve dreamed about for years: Lemmy’s eye. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect moment—it’s us forever.”

Osbourne Family Shares the Joy

The couple’s post quickly captured the attention of fans and rock royalty alike. Bok told the BBC that both Sharon and Kelly Osbourne liked the post, calling it “amazing” and “like receiving a blessing from the Osbourne family.” She told Birmingham Live, “Having their approval made the moment feel even more meaningful.”

Exploring the City After Saying ‘Yes’

After the engagement, Greve and Bok spent the day discovering more of Birmingham’s musical history. They visited an Ozzy Osbourne exhibition and stopped by the pub where Black Sabbath played their very first gig.

Reflecting on why he chose the spot, Greve said, “With Ozzy’s passing, we wanted to leave a letter at the bench. It felt like the perfect place to start the next chapter of our lives together—surrounded by the music that brought us together.”
