Though he’s stepped away from the stage, Ozzy Osbourne isn’t done telling his story. The iconic rocker will release a new memoir, Last Rites, on October 7, offering fans an unfiltered look into his life, career, and personal battles. The book is now available for preorder, and a short promotional trailer has already been released.

Last Rites is Osbourne’s second memoir, following the best-selling I Am Ozzy from 2009. In it, he opens up about the serious health challenges he’s faced in recent years—including his 2020 Parkinson’s diagnosis—which ultimately led to his retirement from touring. The book will also explore his often tumultuous marriage to Sharon Osbourne, behind-the-scenes preparations for his Back to the Beginning farewell concert, and other major moments from his decades-long career.

Rock Legends and Wild Stories

A major highlight of Last Rites will be Osbourne’s recollections of encounters with fellow legends. Readers can expect wild and heartfelt stories involving Bon Scott, Keith Moon, John Bonham, and his final meeting with Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister before his death in 2015.

Reflecting on his past, Osbourne said:

“People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? I’m like, f— no. If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.”

Following a Powerful Farewell

The announcement of Last Rites comes shortly after Osbourne’s emotional farewell performance in Birmingham, England. The Back to the Beginning event featured a solo set and a reunion with Black Sabbath’s original lineup—marking the end of an era, but clearly not the end of his story.
