Ozzy Osbourne Says Geezer Butler Can’t Even Call Him Amidst Health Issues

For someone who’s going through difficult times, especially when it concerns their health, a simple message or call from their loved ones would be meaningful. However, for Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osbourne, that is not the case. According to him, his close friend and Black Sabbath bassist, Geezer Butler, disappointed the hell out of him for not giving him a phone call.
Through his latest interview with Rolling Stone UK, Osbourne expressed his concerns and feelings regarding his health and life, in general. He opened up about his battle with Parkinsonโs disease, as well as his resentment with Geezer for not contacting him. Osbourne stated:
“You do find out whoโs a genuine friend when youโve been through what Iโve had. Black Sabbath guitarist, Tony Iommi, has been so supportive of me since my illness. Geezer Butler hasnโt given me one fucking phone call. Not one fucking call.”
He continued:
“When his son was fucking born, I phoned him every fucking night even though we were at war with each other, Black Sabbath and me [after his sacking]. I thought, ‘Fuck it, heโs my mate, Iโm gonna call him.’ But from him, not one fucking call. Itโs sad, man. We all grew up together, and he canโt pick up the fucking phone like a man and see how Iโm doing. Even [Black Sabbath drummer] Bill Ward has been in touch with me. I said some things about Bill, and I donโt know why I said it, but when I came through my illness, he contacted me. Iโm not in shock, Iโm just very fucking sad that he canโt just call me after all this time and say, ‘How you doing?’ Fucking arsehole.”
The frontman also added:
“But thatโs got fucking nothing to do with me. Are you really going to hide behind your wifeโs skirt because of that?”
Meanwhile, Butler responded to these accusations last November 25 via Instagram. In the post, the bassist said:
“Rumour has it; Ozzy is upset, saying he never received my get well messages. I made 2 different attempts at getting in touch during his illnesses. My first email (8 Feb, 2019) went through his office because I didnโt have Ozzyโs new number to text him. Sharon responded but I didnโt hear back from Ozzy. (Adipex) 11 months later (21 Jan, 2020), I emailed Sharon to check on Oz. That email went unanswered. I donโt want to engage in a tit-for-tat. Having made 2 attempts to wish Ozzy well, without a reply, I figured it best to privately keep him in my thoughts.”
Fans are still waiting for the reply of Osbourne in Butler’s post.
