The legendary Ozzy Osbourne whose rock n’ roll career dates back to the 1960s, took a break from performing last year to focus on his health. Though he loves rocking out in front of thousands of fans, his health struggles have made it tough to stand on stage for long periods. But his passion for music hasn’t faded, and he’s always hoped to get back to performing. That dream might be coming true, thanks to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Ozzy Osbourne Gets Inducted for the Second Time
This October, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is set to induct a new class of music legends, including Jimmy Buffett, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Big Mama Thornton, Dionne Warwick, and Ozzy Osbourne himself, among others. The ceremony, happening in Cleveland, Ohio, is one Osbourne is excited about. According to The Mirror, he’s planning to fly from California to perform at the event.
Marking his second induction into the Hall of Fame, Ozzy shared his excitement:
“It’s still hard to believe I’m about to be a two-time inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I’m really looking forward to attending the induction ceremony in Cleveland this October. More importantly, I am so blessed to have had such an incredible career with amazing fans who have stuck by me through thick and thin over the years.”
Rock Legend Reflects on His Crazy Black Sabbath Days
Ozzy has always been open about his wild past, including his struggles with drug abuse during his time with Black Sabbath. Speaking on The Madhouse Chronicles podcast, he admitted, “In Sabbath, when we discovered cocaine, it was like the meaning of life. We had a dealer on the road with us.” He added:
“We had this guy…and he’d have these big bags of coke. Big bags of coke.”
Thankfully, with the support of his family, Ozzy has left those days behind. Now, he’s focused on staying clean and celebrating his incredible career in heavy metal music.
