A Final Show in Birmingham
Ozzy Osbourne played his last live show just over two weeks before his death. On July 5, he joined his Black Sabbath bandmates at the Back to the Beginning concert. The event was held at Villa Park in Birmingham, the city where the band first formed.
Other artists like Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith also performed that day. Osbourne played a mix of his solo songs and then joined Black Sabbath to close the night. The final song he sang on stage was “Paranoid,” the title track from their 1970 album.

Reunion After 20 Years
This was the first time in two decades that the original members of Black Sabbath reunited for a live show. Ozzy performed with bassist Geezer Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi. Drummer Bill Ward was not present, just like during their 2017 tour.
Osbourne had struggled with health problems in recent years, which made it hard for him to perform. In 2020, he shared that he had Parkinson’s disease. This led him to cancel what was supposed to be his final tour.
Special Honors and a Cause
In October 2024, Ozzy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. During the ceremony, he gave fans a surprise by singing “Crazy Train.” It was a rare appearance and brought excitement to the crowd.
In February 2025, he and his band announced one last concert. It was planned as a benefit show to support Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
The Songs He Chose to Perform
Before the Black Sabbath set, Ozzy performed solo songs with past members of his solo band. The setlist included “I Don’t Know,” “Mr. Crowley,” “Suicide Solution,” “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” and “Crazy Train.”
Black Sabbath then took over for the closing act. They began with “War Pigs,” followed by “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man,” and ended the show with “Paranoid.” These songs had long been part of their most well-known hits.

A Film Tribute and Family Statement
The entire concert is now being turned into a 100-minute movie. It’s called Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow and is planned for a 2026 theater release.
After his passing, his family shared a message: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” they wrote. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
