The legendary Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, has faced serious health struggles in recent years. Now 76, the rock icon has stepped away from regular performances as he battles Parkinson’s disease. Despite his mobility issues, Osbourne has returned to the gym, determined to prepare for one last performance with Black Sabbath. Producer Andrew Watt recently shared an update, calling Osbourne “the real-life Iron Man.”
One Last Show in Birmingham
On July 5th, Osbourne will take the stage in Birmingham, England, for what will be his final performance with Black Sabbath. The event is shaping up to be historic, featuring a powerhouse lineup that includes Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, and Lamb of God. Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Watt reassured fans, saying:
“He’s OK. It’s just his body is not doing what he wants it to do all the time. But I talked to him a couple days ago, and he’s, like, starting to get in the gym again a little bit by little, get himself ready for this last concert.”
While many were surprised to hear Osbourne is back in training, Watt made it clear that his voice remains as powerful as ever.
“He is the real-life Iron Man. And nothing has happened to his voice — his voice is as good as it has ever been.”
Ozzy’s Take on the Performance
Osbourne himself recently spoke about the show, hinting at his role in the concert. “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath, but I am doing little bits and pieces with them. I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.” He added, “I am trying to get back on my feet. When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”
Fans Struggle to Get Tickets
Excitement for the event was overwhelming, and tickets, which went on sale on February 14th, sold out quickly. Many fans expressed frustration over the buying process and the high ticket prices. However, the proceeds from the show will go to charitable organizations, including the Acorn Children’s Hospice and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
With his final bow just months away, Osbourne is proving once again that his spirit and legendary voice are as strong as ever. Fans lucky enough to get a ticket will witness a moment in rock history—one last epic performance from the Prince of Darkness himself.
