Oasis’ Sign Language Interpreter Steals the Show with Rock ’n’ Roll Swagger in Dublin

With all five original members of Oasis born to Irish parents, Ireland has always held a special place in the hearts of the Manchester band. That connection was on full display during their triumphant return to Dublin on August 16 and 17, as the reunited rock legends played two sold-out shows at the city’s massive Croke Park stadium, packing in over 82,000 fans each night. The energy was electric, and fans have been reliving the experience through viral videos posted online.
In a heartfelt moment on Saturday, frontman Liam Gallagher dedicated the band’s performance of Stand By Me to his mother, Peggy, who hails from County Mayo and was in the audience. The song, originally released as the second single from their third album Be Here Now, took on added emotional resonance with Peggy present.
While Oasis delivered the goods on stage, an unexpected star has emerged from the shows—one of the Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreters working the concert. Captured in a now-viral clip by award-winning radio documentarian Ken Sweeney, the interpreter captivated fans with her energetic and expressive signing of the lyrics to Morning Glory, the high-octane title from the band’s 1995 megahit album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
A Show-Stopping Performance in Her Own Right
The interpreter didn’t shy away from the song’s bold content. As she translated the lyrics—famously referencing cocaine in the opening line, “All your dreams are made when you’re chained to the mirror and the razor blade”—she fully embodied the track’s chaotic swagger. At one point, she mimicked snorting a line with theatrical flair, much to the delight of the crowd and social media audiences.
But the highlight of her performance came when she signed the song’s title, “Morning Glory,” with emphatic clarity and unapologetic confidence, delivering a two-word interpretation that fans have since hailed as iconic.
“Get Her on the World Tour!”
The viral moment has sparked a wave of admiration from Oasis fans online. “She needs to be a permanent crew member for the world tour!! What a glorious performance!!” one commenter wrote on Ken Sweeney’s Instagram page, echoing widespread praise for the interpreter’s show-stealing presence.
