Nikki Sixx, best known as the bassist for Mötley Crüe, is embracing a new chapter in his career—one that goes beyond the traditional rockstar lifestyle. While he’s gearing up for a limited series of shows with the band, Sixx is increasingly investing his energy into other creative projects.
Touring Comes to a Close
Sixx recently took to social media to share his thoughts on the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency, a series of ten shows originally scheduled for earlier this year but postponed to September and October to accommodate singer Vince Neil’s recovery from a medical procedure. “I love playing these songs—they’re very personal to me—but being on the road isn’t something I want to do much longer,” Sixx admitted. “I have a six-year-old daughter to raise, plus five older kids and a granddaughter I want to spend time with.” For Sixx, family now takes precedence over life on tour.
Music Remains at the Core
Despite scaling back on touring, Sixx is clear that music will always be central to his life. “All my new projects involve music,” he explained. “Being a rockstar is overrated. The future is about being a creative.” He described the past as “a blast” but expressed excitement for what lies ahead, signaling a shift from performance to creation.
Expanding Creative Horizons
Sixx has been busy developing television programming and animation projects aimed at family entertainment, often incorporating original music. Earlier this year, he revealed a collaboration with Fred Coury, drummer for Cinderella, working on music for an animation project alongside Disney director Rob Minkoff, known for The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. “This process has been fueling my creativity on every level,” Sixx shared, promising fans more updates soon.
