A Real Showman

Kentucky Woman was recorded and written in 1967 and actually did very well in the charts reaching the 22 spot! Interesting enough, it was mixed in mono. Now there’s a fun fact for you. Anyways, you can never go wrong with Neil Diamond. He freaking rocks! With that being said, please enjoy this song. This is a great live performance at the Madison Square Garden around 2008.

“We attracted teenage girls almost exclusively and the house, usually a high school auditorium, was filled to the rafters with screaming females night after night. The song was written in the back of a limo as we approached the outskirts of Paducah, Kentucky.” – Neil Diamond

Deep Purple covered this song and it was different in so many ways – the feel and the whole vibe of the track. We’re still wondering what Neil thought of it. But we bet he found it fun to listen to.
