Neil Diamond’s marriage in 2012 served as his newfound inspiration to completing his album, “Melody Road.” In an interview with The Sun, he said: “A song isn’t really a song until it reaches completion. I finally finished ‘The Art of Love’ and ‘Sunny Disposition,’ thanks to a spark reignited by the entrance of a very special lady into my life.”

Melody Road is Neil Diamond’s 32nd studio album and his first under Capitol Records. This particular song earned the praises of The Wall Street Journal as they described “The Art of Love” as a “tender offering from Diamond, who at age 73, hasn’t lost that ability to convey a wide swath of emotions in just four minutes.”
