Mötley Crüe just released an updated music video for their 1983 classic “Looks That Kill” which includes a footage from the 2019 biopic “The Dirt.” The song was featured on their second album Shout at the Devil and released as a single on January 4, 1984. Written by Nikki Sixx, it only peaked at #54 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Their original MV helped promote the track and with the pyrotechnics and costume, it was on heavy rotation on MTV. But for the band members, it took them 18 hours to shoot. Sixx revealed on I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution, “To be honest, I can’t remember the concept for ‘Looks That Kill.’ If you strip it down, it’s only about being over the top.”

Meanwhile, The Dirt was released on March 22, 2019 on Netflix. While several fans enjoyed the movie, the critics weren’t too kind and gave it unfavorable reviews. Sixx spoke about it and said, “In the film, we show painful examples of domestic violence, DUI, manslaughter, drug overdose and the loss of a child. We couldn’t possibly have crammed everything from a 430-page book into an-hour-and-50-minute movie, but we felt we achieved our objective of showing the downside of sex, drugs and rock and roll.”
