Mötley Crüe knows how to make an entrance like no other band. When they kicked off their three-date Hollywood Takeover tour, fans gathered outside The Troubadour in Los Angeles witnessed something unexpected and unforgettable. The band members—Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, and John 5—did not roll up in limos or sleek tour buses. Instead, they chose something far more dramatic and unusual: a garbage truck.

The Grand Entrance: Garbage Truck Arrival and First Show
In a video shared by the band on YouTube, a large garbage truck pulls up to the historic music venue. As it parks, the back opens to release a heap of garbage bags, an old mattress, and more. Out of this pile of rubbish came the members of Mötley Crüe, diving headfirst into the trash as the crowd’s cheers filled the air. It was a spectacle that only a band like Mötley Crüe could pull off.

Once on the ground, ready to rock, the band walked through the crowd of excited fans and into the venue, where they headed straight to the stage to perform. This event was just the first stop in their special Hollywood Takeover tour, which includes shows at The Roxy on October 9 and the Whiskey a Go Go on October 11.
The tour supports their latest EP, “Cancelled,” which came out on October 4. The EP includes three tracks: “Cancelled,” “Dogs of War,” and a cover of the Beastie Boys’ classic, “Fight for Your Right.”
Mötley Crüe Announces 2025 Las Vegas Residency and Future Plans
Earlier this month, Mötley Crüe also announced a residency in Las Vegas, set to start in March 2025 at the Dolby Live at Park MGM. During an interview with PEOPLE, Nikki Sixx shared some insights into the band’s plans for their residency. He stated: “We want to just relook at our songs and incorporate songs that people have been asking us to play for a long time, maybe some B-tracks, some different tracks, and rethink the idea of an intimate evening with the band.” He added, “We’re in the early creative process, but we just don’t want to repeat ourselves. We want to do something special for Vegas.”

Despite the new plans for their residency, the band’s iconic hits remain a key part of their performances. Sixx said, “We’re still all about being Mötley.” Over time, his favorite songs to play live have changed. “My love of playing our catalog— which songs connect with me more— actually evolves,” he explained. “We are playing ‘On with the Show’ now from the first record and something feels so fresh and exciting about it. We play it every night. That’s always a good one. ‘Primal Scream’ is another really fun song, but I mean, you can’t go wrong with ‘Girls, Girls, Girls,’ ‘Kickstart My Heart,’ or even ‘Home Sweet Home.’”
