Mick Fleetwood is set to release a new album this fall, a collaboration with ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro titled Blues Experience. The album is slated to drop on October 18.

Shimabukuro, known for his remarkable ukulele skills, expressed his excitement about the project. He said:

“I’ve always wanted to do a blues album.
“When Mick and I started talking about working together, I thought who better to work with than Mick Fleetwood?”

Shimabukuro gained international fame in 2006 when a video of him performing George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on ukulele went viral. Since then, he has toured with Jimmy Buffett and collaborated with artists such as Willie Nelson and Warren Haynes.

Blues Experience features fresh takes on classic blues tracks, including “Rollin’ and Tumblin’” (which you can listen to below), Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” Procol Harum’s “Whiter Shade of Pale,” and two renditions of Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird.”

Shimabukuro commented:

“Mick’s energy when he plays is so infectious.
“He’s such an intense musician. He pushes everyone around him, and it’s inspiring to see his facial expressions and watch his movement and the way he hits the drums.”

Fleetwood echoed Shimabukuro’s enthusiasm, particularly about their rendition of “Rollin’ and Tumblin’.” Fleetwood said:

“Jake and I had a full let-it-all-go moment on this one!!
“Jake let his hair down. A blues standard being given a wake-up call!”

Here’s the complete track listing for Blues Experience:
1. “Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers”
2. “Rollin’ N Tumblin'”
