Mick Fleetwood is set to headline the inaugural Maui Music & Food Experience, a three-day event from September 5 to 7. This event is not just about music and food; it’s a fundraiser for the Hua Momona Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those affected by the devastating 2023 wildfires in Maui. The wildfires ravaged the Hawaiian island, including the town of Lahaina, where Fleetwood’s restaurant, Fleetwood’s on Front Street, was among the many businesses destroyed.

Fleetwood, who has called Maui home for decades, expressed his deep sorrow following the disaster. “Maui and the Lahaina community have been my home for several decades,” he posted on social media. “This is a devastating moment for Maui, and many are suffering unimaginable loss.” His involvement in the event reflects his commitment to the community that has been so important to him.

The Maui Music & Food Experience aims to address the ongoing needs of those still struggling in the aftermath of the wildfires. Gary Grube, founder of the Hua Momona Foundation, emphasized the importance of continued support:

“Our world moves so fast these days, it’s no wonder many people have forgotten about the devastation that took place here last summer and the crucial needs that still exist. This experience will support our ongoing efforts to provide food, housing, and mental health resources to our fellow islanders and we invite everyone to join us for a weekend of music, food, and unity as we honor the spirit of Maui and work towards a brighter future.”

The event will feature an impressive lineup of artists, including Billy Cox of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys, Ron Artis II participating in a special Jimi Hendrix set, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Wayne Baker Brooks, Keni Blue, Bernard Fowler of the Rolling Stones, Ernie Isley of the Isley Brothers, Darryl Jones of the Rolling Stones, Ivan Julian, Howard Levy, Ivan Neville, The Nicholas Tremulis 4, Charlie Sexton, and Isaiah Sharkey. Local Maui musicians will also take part in the event reflecting the deep connection to the community.

By bringing together renowned artists and local talent, the Maui Music & Food Experience aims to uplift the community while raising essential funds for ongoing recovery efforts. For more details, you can visit the festival’s webpage.
