His Game Show Has Been Signed

Meat Loaf has been spending his time in Nashville and still recovering from several back surgeries.

In a new interview with UCR, he talked about his plans on releasing new music particularly a four-track EP that will include “What Part of My Body Hurts the Most?” This song was a collaborative effort between him and Jim Steinman, who passed away in April. It was debuted in February 2017 in Manchester, England but was put on hold because of the pandemic.

“That was a kind of Broadway-show style and arrangement,” Meat Loaf explained the track. “I’ll do more of a rock ‘n’ roll version, more like something we would have put on the albums.”

Meat Loaf also has another project – a TV game show named after his classic 1993 hit “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)”. It was already signed by ABC in the U.S. and ITV in Great Britain and Australia. He’s hoping it will start production by 2022. And lastly, Meat Loaf is looking forward to being back on the road.

“I keep leaving messages for the agent – ‘Let’s do five weeks, 16 shows in America, take a little break, then do 16 shows in Europe, take a break, do another 16 somewhere else,'” he said. He added that he “got to be careful due to health considerations” but that his “voice is in incredible shape.”
