The actor passed away at his residence on October 28, and additional information about Matthew Perry’s death has now surfaced. On Tuesday, the death certificate for the late Friends actor was made public, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his demise.
According to the obtained death certificate, Perry, discovered in his hot tub, passed away on October 28 at 4:17 p.m. Keith Morrison, Perry’s stepfather and the host of Dateline is noted as the informant on the certificate, having identified Perry to authorities.
Pending the investigation, the cause of Perry’s death is not yet determined as the medical examiner’s office awaits toxicology and lab results.
The certificate discloses that Perry was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles on November 3.
Friends Cast and LeBlanc’s Emotional Farewell
Earlier reports from ET revealed that Matthew Perry’s Friends co-stars, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, attended his funeral alongside other close ones.
The disclosure of Perry’s death certificate coincided with Matt LeBlanc’s Instagram tribute to his late co-star on the same day. LeBlanc wrote:
“With a heavy heart, I bid farewell. The moments we shared are truly among the highlights of my life. It was an honor to be on stage with you and to call you my friend.
“I will always cherish the memories and never forget you. Never. Soar high, brother, you’re finally free. Much love. And I suppose you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
LeBlanc is the first member of the Friends cast to individually express thoughts on Perry’s passing. The group had previously issued a joint statement expressing profound sorrow over Matthew’s loss and emphasizing their close-knit bond as a family. They acknowledged the need for time to grieve and process the “unfathomable loss,” pledging to share more in the future. For now, their thoughts and love go out to Perry’s family, friends, and admirers worldwide.
