Matt LeBlanc posted a carousel of photos to honor his late Friends actor, Matthew Perry.
LeBlanc who played Joey Tribbiani on the hit NBC sitcom, Friends, shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram with a heartfelt message. The post contained some of the scenes he had with the late Perry who played the role of Chandler Bing on the sitcom, and who died last October 28 from apparent drowning.
LeBlanc, who was feeling emotional about the sudden death of his co-star, described those times he had with him as some of his “favorite times” in his life. Some scenes included season 2’s “The One After the Super Bowl, Part 1” and season 4’s “Joey and Chandler Get Robbed.” The last photo on his post showed the rest of the cast sharing a group hug during the series finale.
In the caption, LeBlanc wrote:
“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
Their statement read:
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Meanwhile, the Friends’ director, James Burrows, said that the cast was already destroyed after Perry’s passing. The entire cast, and the production team, attended Perry’s funeral last November 3. Perry was laid to his final resting bed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, not far from Warner Bros. Studios where he filmed Friends.
