The Eagles have shared a live performance of the musical masterpiece “Hotel California” – a preview of their upcoming release “Live From the Forum MMXVIII” out on October 16 via Rhino. It previously premiered on ESPN on July 5. The 26 tracks are a mix of classics and deep cuts, including songs from their respective solo careers.

It was recorded over three shows in September 2018 at the iconic Los Angeles venue. This version kicks off with a trumpet making it extra special and unique. The current lineup includes Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey.

While The Eagles have a plethora of well-loved classics in their catalog, “Hotel California” is perhaps the most popular. There have been rumors and speculations about its meaning and in 2003, Glenn Frey said: “Vaguery is the primary tool of songwriters. It works, it means whatever the listener wants it to mean.”
