If you’ve ever dreamed of cloning the Prince of Darkness, now might be your chance. Liquid Death, the brand known for its edgy canned water and teas, has released a bizarre — and awesome — collector’s item: iced tea cans containing Ozzy Osbourne’s actual DNA.
The new product line, called “Infinite Ozzy,” features a limited run of just 10 cans of iced tea that were actually consumed by Osbourne himself. Yep, he drank from them — and they were sealed up right after to preserve his DNA. The idea? That one day fans could potentially clone the heavy metal legend.
“Clone me, you bastards,” Osbourne dared fans.
Each can also comes autographed by Ozzy, making it a truly unique piece of rock memorabilia. The cans are being sold for $450 each on Liquid Death’s website. But with only 10 in existence, you’ll need to act fast if you want one in your collection.
The company even released a cheeky trailer explaining all the wild things you might be able to do with your own Ozzy clone — once science catches up, of course.
Ozzy’s Wild Genes, Explained
Ozzy’s connection to strange science isn’t exactly new. Back in 2019, researcher Bill Sullivan called him a “genetic mutant” in the book Pleased to Meet Me: Genes, Germs, and the Curious Forces That Make Us Who We Are.
Sullivan wrote that Osbourne has a “never-before-seen mutation” that helped him survive heavy alcohol consumption and also has “several genetic variations that predisposed him to substance dependency.” In short, his DNA is one-of-a-kind — which makes these new cans even more interesting for hardcore fans and collectors.
The Final Bow for the Prince of Darkness
The DNA drop comes just ahead of a major moment in Ozzy’s career. On July 5, he’ll hit the stage for the final public performance of his life. He’s set to perform solo material and reunite with his Black Sabbath bandmates for the “Back to the Beginning” farewell show at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. Get ready to raise a can — or clone — to the legend himself.
