Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher pulled no punches when publicly blasting a concertgoer who discharged a flare into the crowd during the band’s performance in Melbourne, Australia, on Friday. The incident occurred during the opening night of the Australian leg of the group’s highly anticipated Live ’25 reunion tour at Marvel Stadium. Gallagher, known for his unfiltered honesty, took to social media shortly after the show to directly address the reckless behaviour.
Gallagher’s Explosive Social Media Rebuke
The singer’s reaction was characteristically intense. He expressed his fury on X, directing a scathing warning at the fan. “To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne, you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” Gallagher wrote. The strong language followed an on-stage acknowledgment of the firework, which was captured on video and circulated online. The visual evidence showed the attendee waving the flare before tossing it into the dense audience section—a move widely condemned as extremely dangerous.
Chaos During ‘Champagne Supernova’
The dangerous moment unfolded during the band’s final song, the classic anthem “Champagne Supernova.” One concertgoer, Brad Bultman, recounted the scene, saying he initially mistook the flare for a planned element of the show. “Then very quickly I saw it explode and expand a bit further, and then somebody actually pick up the live flare and toss it back in the air and create more fire and smoke in a different area,” he explained. “I was like, ‘Oh geez’ — you hope nobody gets hurt.” Despite the chaos, Gallagher reportedly kept his composure on stage, acknowledging the situation after the song concluded by quipping, “naughty, naughty, naughty.”
Hints of a 2026 Extension
The high-stakes Melbourne show comes amidst a successful reunion tour that is currently scheduled to conclude in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on November 23. However, the prospect of future dates remains strong, as Gallagher has repeatedly fuelled rumours of a 2026 tour. At a recent London gig, he thanked the Wembley Stadium audience, stating, “Most of all, I wanna thank you lot for keeping the faith and putting this band back on the fucking map. See you next year!” Similar comments made in Edinburgh have stoked fan excitement, suggesting the Britpop legends may not be hanging up their microphones anytime soon.
