A Return to the Electric Stage
KISS brought loud, raw energy back to Las Vegas on Saturday night, performing a full 16-song electric set for the first time in nearly two years. The show marked a notable moment for the band, who had mostly stepped away from large-scale live performances following the end of their farewell tour in 2023.
Fans captured the night in several videos, and the complete set list confirmed that the band aimed to revisit both familiar favorites and unexpected choices.
Performing Without the Iconic Look
In a twist from their classic presentation, KISS took the stage without their trademark makeup, costumes, or pyrotechnics. The band played straight ahead, letting the music carry the show. As Paul Stanley joked mid-set, “No makeup, no bombs, we’re [still] pretty fucking good, right?”
Earlier that day, Stanley hosted a cooking class, where a fan asked if the group would perform any “deep cuts” that night. He responded with a light-hearted rant about sticking to the classics because that’s what the majority of fans want to hear. His comments suggested a set focused only on hits, but that wasn’t entirely the case once the band hit the stage.
Surprise Song Choices and Special Nods
KISS reached into their catalog for several songs that rarely appear in their shows, including “Take Me,” “Got to Choose,” and “Love Her All I Can.” The surprise selections thrilled longtime fans who have waited years to hear these tracks live again.
During “Cold Gin,” guitarist Tommy Thayer offered a respectful nod to original lead guitarist Ace Frehley. After finishing the song, he played the solo from the end of Alive!’s version of “She” and then pointed to the sky, a gesture that many fans interpreted as a tribute.
A Reunion on Stage
Another familiar face arrived near the end of the night. Former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick joined the band for the last two songs. His appearance added an extra layer of excitement, especially during the traditional “Won’t Get Fooled Again” instrumental break inside “Lick It Up,” a moment that has become a highlight for many fans over the years.
The band closed the night with “Rock and Roll All Nite,” bringing Kulick back out once more to finish the show with them.
Looking Back at the End of the Road
This Las Vegas performance was KISS’ first full electric show since wrapping up their five-year End of the Road tour with two final concerts at Madison Square Garden in December 2023. The night before the Vegas electric set, the band performed a special acoustic show that began with a candlelit moment of silence for Ace Frehley, who passed away in October.
