A woman known as the “Ketamine Queen” has agreed to plead guilty to supplying the drug that led to the death of Friends actor Matthew Perry.
Jasveen Sangha, 42, faces five charges in Los Angeles, including distributing ketamine that resulted in death or serious injury, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. She was initially charged with nine counts.
Authorities described her Los Angeles residence as a “drug-selling emporium,” where they found dozens of ketamine vials during a raid.
Perry was discovered dead in a hot tub at his LA home in October 2023. A medical report confirmed that he died from the acute effects of ketamine.
A Widening Investigation and Network of Suppliers
Sangha is one of five individuals accused of supplying ketamine to Perry, allegedly taking advantage of his addiction for financial gain. The group includes two doctors — Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Dr. Mark Chavez — as well as Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, and drug dealer Eric Fleming.
All five have agreed to plead guilty. Sangha’s trial had been delayed multiple times but was set to begin next month. She is expected to enter her plea formally in the coming weeks.
Her lawyer, Mark Geragos, stated she is accepting responsibility for her actions. Sangha plans to plead guilty to one count of operating a drug-involved premises, three counts of ketamine distribution, and one count of distribution causing death or serious injury.
If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum sentence of 65 years in federal prison.
Drug Use, Hollywood, and a “Stash House” Operation
Ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic with hallucinogenic effects, is legally used under medical supervision but is also abused recreationally. It can alter perception and create a feeling of detachment from the body and surroundings.
The investigation into Perry’s death revealed how ketamine was being misused in Hollywood, with one doctor describing the scene as a “wild west” of drug use.
As part of her plea deal, Sangha will also admit to selling ketamine in 2019 to a man named Cody McLaury, who died shortly afterward from an overdose.
Authorities allege that since at least 2019, Sangha was distributing drugs — including ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, and Xanax — from her North Hollywood home, referred to in court documents as the “Sangha Stash House.” More than 80 vials of ketamine and thousands of pills were found during a 2024 search.
A Public Figure with a Private Empire
Sangha was reportedly well-connected socially, often seen at high-profile events like the Oscars and the Golden Globes. Her social media highlighted a lavish lifestyle, including international travel and exclusive parties.
