Judas Priest Release New Single “Trial By Fire”

Judas Priest releases their newest single “Trial by Fire,” taken from their upcoming studio album Invincible Shield.
The latest song follows the lead single “Panic Attack.” On “Trial by Fire” Rob Halford sings about being accused of unidentified wrongdoings with the lyrics: “Bound and abused / Branded a liar / I have endured / Trial by fire.”
All About The New Album ‘Invincible Shield’
Invincible Shield marks the band’s first record since 2018 Firepower, which earned them their highest-charting US album as it debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. During their headline show at the Power Trip Festival in Indio, California last October, they announced their 19th studio album is set to come out on March 8, 2024.
In 2022, Halford said about their previous successful album:
“[Firepower] was so well-received and critically acclaimed.
“It was kind of like, ‘Is that it? Should we leave it there? Should we leave the party now?’ But that record, along with the reception from our friends and in the industry, gave us even more energy and more determination to make another Priest album.”
Last June, Guitarist Richie Faulkner said that fans could expect the band’s sound in their ’70s material on the new album. He explained:
“There are definitely a few more twists and turns on this record. There are a few more musical parts.
“I’ve used the word ‘progressive’ before, and the internet ripped me a new asshole. But it is progressive in the sense that it’s not like verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus-finish. It’s musical part-verse-musical part. It might do a few twists and turns, musically. It veers from the path of it, a bit like ‘Sinner’ or ‘Tyrant’ or something like that. So, it’s a bit more ’70s Priest, which I welcome as a guitar player.”
In celebration of their 50th anniversary, the legendary band will also embark on a world tour next year in support of their album launch. Judas Priest will be on the road for their UK and European leg that kicks off in Glasgow on March 11th and includes a show at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on March 21st.
