Jonathan Cain, the veteran keyboardist of Journey, has revealed plans to pursue ministry and worship music after the band’s upcoming farewell tour. In an interview on the Strang Report podcast, Cain spoke candidly about feeling a spiritual calling that will shape the next phase of his career.

New Releases and Looking Ahead

Cain is gearing up to release a new single titled “No One Else” on October 25th, followed by an EP slated for later this year. Despite these solo projects, he remains fully committed to Journey’s farewell tour, which is set to take place in 2026, marking his final run with the legendary band.

“This is my fifth collection of worship songs centered on God and the gospel,” Cain shared. “I find this latest batch especially powerful. It’s clear to me that God is guiding me toward this path. I intend to keep creating music that fills a spiritual void, honor the blessings I’ve received, and give back through this ministry. It feels like the natural next step.”

Journey’s Future and Cain’s Spiritual Shift

Responding to rumors that he had already left Journey, Cain reassured fans that he’s fully engaged with the band’s upcoming tour, providing plenty of chances for fans to see the classic lineup live one last time.

Meanwhile, Journey guitarist Neal Schon has made it clear that the band will carry on without Cain. Schon emphasized that Journey still has “so much life ahead” and plans to continue touring and making music well into the future.
