He’s Not Too Happy Though

While most rock bands are plotting their touring schedules and preparing to hit the road again, The Moody Blues bassist and singer John Lodge has just announced that they won’t embark on a tour anymore.

In a recent interview with UCR, Lodge admitted: “I don’t think there’ll be anything with the Moodys.”

“I know the Moodys won’t tour again,” he explained. “I would tour, but I know Justin [Hayward] doesn’t want to tour with the Moodys, so it won’t happen.”

Lodge himself isn’t too happy about it and is actually working on new material. And when he does embark on a tour, he’s adding some of their classic hits to his setlist.

“The Moody Blues meant so much to me, and so much to so many people. It’s been part of me for 50 years — more, really,” he said. “I’m very proud of it, and that’s why I want to keep playing those songs and keep it fresh and alive. I don’t want the Moody Blues to ever become just, like, a singalong band, you know? I want to keep it going.”

Meanwhile, Lodge recently released his new digital single titled “The Sun Will Shine” which he wrote and recorded during the lockdown.
