In an age where you can’t tune into your favorite late night talk show without seeing a popstar hustling their brand new album/project/financial venture, it’s always a breath of fresh air when you tune in and see a living, breathing, rock legend doing what they do best – and that’s exactly what fans got last week when they tuned in to Conan and spent 30 wonderful minutes with rock legend Joe Walsh. The former Eagle proved to be every bit as hilarious and talented as ever as he sat down with Conan to discuss his turbulent – and at times really, really funny – past before hitting the stage for a blues soaked performance of his 1973 smash hit “Rocky Mountain Way”.

Fun Fact: “Rocky Mountain Way” was born after a flash of inspiration hit Walsh as he mowed his lawn.

Armed with his red Paul Reed Smith Mira guitar and the help of Conan’s own Basic Cable Band, Joe dazzled with “Rocky Mountain Way” and showed the next generation how it’s really done, never once sacrificing the quality of his performance for theatrics and show ratings. We’ve loved “Rocky Mountain Way” since we first heard it decades ago because Joe’s voice has this honest, bluesy quality to it and hearing him perform it in 2016 is even more amazing – we just can’t get enough of the incredible way Joe’s voice has stood the test of time and evolved into one of those once in a lifetime rock and roll voices!
