Joe Walsh Remembers His Fellow Eagles Member

At the time of this writing, it’s been just over a year since the tragic passing of the legendary Glenn Frey. This tragic event truly left a void in the hearts of us classic rock fans and took it as if we lost our own family member, because we basically did. The person that’s been the most vocal about this tragedy is fellow Eagles member Joe Walsh. The two has a bond like no other and when the news of Glenn Frey’s passing broke, there was no one more devastated than Joe Walsh.

Recently, Joe Walsh spoke on the impact that Glenn Frey had on his life. Here is what he had to say: “To have spent the time that I got to spend with Glenn, it was life changing.  He was such a good friend.  Such a good musician, and he had such a grasp of the big picture, y’know?  He knew what he wanted to do, and it was make the Eagles into exactly what they were…This has been said about him, but he was like the coach of a football team, y’know?…We all had so much respect for him that we all let him run with the football.  I always thought when I first was going to join, I thought with the vocals and the songwriting that’s already in place, ‘Boy, I could play some kick-ass guitar on that!’  I’m just grateful for the time that Glenn was in my life, because he took the quality of my whole life up a big notch.”

It’s obvious that the two were much more than just bandmates. They were the best of friends. Glenn’s passing still hurts as strongly as the day it happened. He was simply one of the best musicians, but an even better person. He will always be missed. Rest easy, Eagle…
