The recoding of the previously-unreleased The Jimi Hendrix Experience Los Angeles Forum: April 26, 1969 is now set to come out on November 18. The recording includes performances of the original lineup, which is Hendrix, drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Noel Redding.

This “never before been released” recording is their major undertaking in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Hendrix’s birthday. Credits must also go to Wally Heider and Bill Halverson who recorded it contemporaneously.

The longtime Hendrix producer/engineer Eddie Kramer also did a great job remixing the records and giving it the maximum audio fidelity. It was produced by Kramer himself, Janie Hendrix, CEO of Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. and the sister of Jimi Hendrix, and John McDermott.

The show opened with an obscure 1967 instrumental “Tax Free” which is done by the Swedish duo Hansson & Karlsson. It will be followed by more familiar tunes like “Foxey Lady,” “Purple Haze” and “Red House.” “The Star Spangled Banner” reimagining is also there which Jimi canonize four months later at Woodstock.

Lastly, a unique medley of “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” and Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” will be played. The recording package will be available in multiple formats, including 2LP vinyl, CD and all digital platforms.
