Jethro Tull recently announced a change within their band lineup as guitarist Joe Parrish-James is set to depart at the end of February. Parrish-James is leaving to focus on his band, Albion, which recently released a new album titled Lakesongs Of Elbid. Taking his place will be Jack Clark, a familiar face to Tull fans who have previously filled in on bass and second guitar during live shows.

In a heartfelt social media post, Jethro Tull bid farewell to Parrish-James, who joined the band in 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began to unfold. After four years with the band, Parrish-James has decided to pursue his musical endeavors with Albion.

The band expressed gratitude for Parrish-James’ contributions on stage and in the studio, recognizing his involvement in their last two albums released in 2022 and 2023.

Beginning in March, Jack Clark will step into Parrish-James’ role, bringing with him experience gained from previous performances with the band. Clark has filled in on bass guitar during tours and is currently covering keyboard parts while John O’Hara is unavailable.

Parrish-James plans to keep fans updated on his future projects and invites them to check out Albion’s latest album, Lakesongs of Elbid, which is available for streaming on the band’s Instagram page.

Jethro Tull’s most recent studio album, RökFlöte, was released in April 2023. Additionally, the band released alternative stereo mixes of the album by Bruce Soord (of THE PINEAPPLE THIEF) on various digital platforms.

Following the success of 2022’s The Zealot Gene, which marked their return after two decades, Ian Anderson and the band explored Norse mythology for their 12-track RökFlöte album. The record delves into the fusion of rock and flute, a distinctive aspect of Jethro Tull’s sound.

The Zealot Gene received widespread critical acclaim, achieving notable chart positions worldwide, including a top 10 placement in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, and the US.

With a discography spanning over 30 albums and sales exceeding 50 million, Jethro Tull remains one of the most influential rock bands, with timeless classics that continue to resonate with audiences globally.
