After years of thrilling audiences, Jeff Lynne has announced that the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) will officially land their legendary spaceship for the last time. While ELO was first revived in 2001, the group didn’t go on tour again until 2014. It was 2018 when the band returned to the U.S. for the first time in over 30 years, just after their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, they’re preparing to take their final bow.

ELO Returns to Hyde Park for Final Performance

The band will have their final performance at Hyde Park in London on July 13, 2025—the same spot where ELO made their big return to live shows nearly a decade ago. Tickets for this special farewell concert go on sale on Friday, Oct. 25, at 4 AM ET, with presales starting on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 5 AM ET for AEG Presents newsletter subscribers.

Lynne shared his thoughts on the event:

“My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our U.K. fans. As the song goes, ‘We’re gonna do it one more time!’”

Final Tour Schedule and ELO’s Legacy

The Electric Light Orchestra started in 1970 as an offshoot of the Move. The band originally included Roy Wood alongside Lynne. After Wood left, the band hit their commercial peak with hits like “Evil Woman,” “Turn to Stone,” and “Strange Magic.” However, their momentum slowed in the mid-1980s due to changing musical trends.

ELO’s revival in 2014 led to two albums: Alone in the Universe (2015) and From Out of Nowhere (2019). Their current Over and Out Tour began in August and will wrap up in the U.S. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in Los Angeles.

Fans may remember the electric energy of ELO’s return to Hyde Park in 2014, which was commemorated in Jeff Lynne’s ELO: Live in Hyde Park and the documentary Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne & ELO. Lynne fondly recalled:

“I had all these negative thoughts before agreeing to play Hyde Park, but the crowd just went bananas all the way through. They loved every minute of it. It was the best show I’d ever been involved with up until that point.”
