Guitarist Jake E. Lee has announced that the two individuals involved in his 2024 shooting will be sentenced next month for several serious offenses. The former Ozzy Osbourne band member was seriously wounded on October 15, 2024, in a violent altercation near his home in Las Vegas.

Lee explained that the confrontation occurred when he caught the two men trying to steal a motorcycle. The situation escalated quickly, and shots were fired while he was out walking his dog, Coco, around 2 a.m.

In total, 15 bullets were discharged, one of which nearly struck Lee’s spine, potentially leaving him permanently paralyzed. He was hit by three rounds.

In a recent social media update, he shared:

“Oh, btw, the two that shot me have been caught and face sentencing next month. The gun was tied to two previous murders so my case is almost an afterthought. They’re going bye bye for a long time.”

Lee Prepares for Black Sabbath’s Final Performance

Despite the traumatic incident, Lee appears to be in good spirits and looking ahead. He mentioned the update about the shooters casually while expressing excitement about his upcoming performance at Black Sabbath’s final concert in Birmingham, England, on July 5. He wrote:

“Just confirming I’m playing.
“I believe I’ll be first at bat, which means Coco has to be up at 7.00 a.m. to watch Pops! I’m thrilled to be sharing the stage with top tier musicians [who] I won’t name cause you never know until the curtain rises, but will confirm once we have our rehearsal next week.”

He signed off with:

“On that happy thought, see ya on TV!”

Ozzy Osbourne Reacts to the Shooting

Lee played with Osbourne from 1983 to 1987, contributing to the albums Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin. Although the two lost touch after Lee was fired, Osbourne responded with concern when he learned about the shooting. Osbourne said:

“It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him.
“It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be OK.”
