Jack Osbourne has opened up about the death of his father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, in a heartfelt YouTube video. He shared how he found out about Ozzy’s passing, reflected on his father’s final days, and responded to rumors surrounding his death.

Ozzy, best known as the frontman of Black Sabbath, died on July 22 at the age of 76, just weeks after performing his final show at the Back to the Beginning concert. According to Jack, Ozzy was in good spirits in the days following the show, spending time with family at their home in England and feeling proud of what he had achieved.

“He Was Really Happy” — Ozzy’s Final Days

Jack described Ozzy as being in a great mood after the concert, enjoying the media attention and fan reactions. Jack said:

“My dad was in an amazing mood.
“He was really happy. Every day he was reading new reviews and stories about the show.”

The family had no idea what was coming. Ozzy’s sudden death took them by surprise.

Jack, who was at his home in Los Angeles, was woken up early in the morning by a knock on the door. A longtime employee who had worked with the family for over 30 years had come to deliver the terrible news. Jack said:

“When I saw it was him, I just knew something bad had happened.
“And then I was told my father had passed.”

Setting the Record Straight on the Rumors

Soon after Ozzy’s death, rumors began to spread online, including claims that he had gone to Switzerland for assisted suicide. Jack strongly denied these rumors, calling them completely false. He said:

“There was all this talk about my dad going to Switzerland to end his life — that’s absolutely not true.
“It’s ridiculous.”

Instead, Jack said his father was looking forward to the future. He wanted to spend more time in England, be around his grandchildren, and enjoy life away from the spotlight. Jack said:

“He was happy he got to do the show.
“And he was ready for the next chapter.”

Remembering a Legend

Jack also shared how much the support from fans has meant to the family during this time. He said:

“It’s been overwhelming, but also really comforting.
“My dad meant a lot to a lot of people. And that love has helped us through this.”

Even though the grief has been difficult, Jack finds peace in knowing that Ozzy had the chance to say goodbye in his own way. He said:

“There’s something kind of perfect about it.
“He got to say goodbye. He got to perform. He saw old friends. It all happened just before the end.”

Jack finished his message with a powerful reminder: Ozzy’s death doesn’t mean his legacy is over. Jack said:

“Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t end because he passed away on July 22.
“His spirit is still out there — and people will feel it forever.”
