Blues-rock icon George Thorogood has announced the first leg of his 2026 tour, continuing his acclaimed Baddest Show on Earth run into the new year.
The tour will kick off on March 6 in Highland, California, and continue through April 4 in Ottawa, Ontario. This stretch of shows will include a mix of special “An Evening With” performances and select dates featuring opening acts Canyon Lights or the Robert Cray Band. Additional 2026 tour stops are expected to be revealed soon.
“When we decided to call this tour the ‘Baddest Show on Earth’, we had no doubt we could back it up night after night,” Thorogood said in a statement. “We’re playing great venues in some of our favorite markets, and it’s guaranteed we can make you feel like a teenager again. Time to get on the bus, hit the highway and bring the rock party to the people for 2026.”
Crafting a Sound That Stands Apart
In a 2024 conversation with UCR, Thorogood reflected on the careful song selection that has defined his decades-long career with the Destroyers. He explained that his goal has always been to give the band a distinct musical identity through their material.
“I wanted our band to have our own identity with the material that we chose,” he said. “You see, I don’t do covers. What I do is obscure material. There’s a difference. Joe Cocker does covers. Linda Ronstadt does covers. George Thorogood does obscure material. I’m the Indiana Jones of rock and roll! I’m the rock and roll archaeologist. I’m digging up these archives that nobody even knows they exist.”
That approach has helped Thorogood turn overlooked songs like John Lee Hooker’s “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” and Hank Williams’ “Move It On Over” into signature hits that define his hard-driving style.
A Rock & Roll Year to Remember
The past year has been packed with career milestones for Thorogood. His legendary guitar was recently added to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s permanent collection, recognizing his enduring influence on American rock and blues.
He also performed at halftime for the Las Vegas Raiders, rocking a crowd of more than 54,000 fans, and filmed a special set for the PBS concert series Recorded Live at Analog.
With another leg of the Baddest Show on Earth on the horizon, George Thorogood shows no signs of slowing down — proving once again that, decades into his career, he’s still bringing the badness to stages around the world.
