As Foreigner hits the 50-year mark, the band is proving that classic rock still has fresh legs. With a deluxe reissue of their iconic Foreigner 4 album, a full U.S. tour, and a lineup shakeup that brings new and old voices together, the band is entering a new chapter—loud, proud, and still packing arenas.
From “Cold as Ice” to New Fire: Maldonado Takes the Mic
Foreigner’s 2025 tour is notable for many reasons, but none more so than the introduction of Luis Maldonado as the band’s new lead singer. Maldonado, who’s made his mark with acts like UFO, Glenn Hughes, and Train, now takes center stage for Foreigner’s stateside shows—his first major appearances with the band in the U.S.
He initially stepped into the fold in 2021, replacing longtime multi-instrumentalist Thom Gimbel, and began testing the waters with live performances in South America earlier this year. Now, he’s ready to take on the American leg, including multi-night stops in Port Chester, NY, and Montclair, NJ.
Longtime frontman Kelly Hansen, who has led the band since 2005 and appeared on 2009’s Can’t Slow Down, will finish out his final run through November before officially passing the torch.
Gramm Rejoins, Jones Bows Out
Fans of Foreigner’s classic era are in for a treat: Lou Gramm, the original voice behind hits like “Juke Box Hero” and “I Want to Know What Love Is,” is set to rejoin the band for a handful of guest performances.
Gramm has made sporadic appearances in recent years, helping preserve the band’s roots after co-founder and guitarist Mick Jones retired from touring due to health issues. Jones, diagnosed with Parkinson’s, won’t be joining the group onstage but recently released a new track titled “Shelter From the Storm.” He also won’t be present at Foreigner’s upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction—a bittersweet milestone for the group.
Constantine Maroulis to Open December Dates
The winter leg of the tour will also feature a special guest: Constantine Maroulis, who rose to fame on American Idol and later earned a Tony nomination for his lead role in Rock of Ages. His high-voltage performances will open Foreigner’s shows in December, adding a theatrical punch to an already high-profile run.
In addition to the tour, Foreigner is commemorating the moment with a re-release of Foreigner 4 Deluxe—a remastered look back at one of the most influential rock albums of the ’80s.
Tickets for the Foreigner 4 Deluxe Tour are now on sale. The band’s 50th anniversary celebration promises nostalgia, fresh energy, and a fitting sendoff to one of arena rock’s most enduring names.
