A Classic That Never Fades

Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours has long been a steady presence on the Billboard charts. The record has spent hundreds of weeks on different lists, rarely falling outside the top 10 when it comes to rankings that focus on rock music. Decades after its release, the Grammy-winning album continues to find new listeners while staying popular with old fans.

This week, Rumours climbs once again, reclaiming the top position on one of Billboard’s most closely watched rankings. The album rises several spots and in the process replaces the latest release from one of today’s most talked-about stars.

Rumours Rocks Back to No. 1

On the Top Rock Albums chart, Rumours has regained the crown. Just a week ago, Fleetwood Mac was sitting in fourth place on the list, but now the band has returned to the top. It marks another strong showing for a record that has proven its staying power for generations.

This climb gives Rumours its seventh stay at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart. Last week’s leader, Lost Americana by MGK—still widely known by his former name, Machine Gun Kelly—drops to No. 3. Another contender, Noah Kahan’s Stick Season, improves from fifth place to second, showing how competitive the chart remains.

Two Albums Back on the Rock Chart

Fleetwood Mac’s impact is not limited to one project. At the same time that Rumours has returned to the summit, the band also sees its Greatest Hits compilation reappear. The collection enters the Top Rock Albums chart at No. 18, showing once again how the group’s catalog continues to resonate. In the past, the same album climbed as high as No. 4, though it had recently slipped away from the list altogether.

Having two albums ranked at once shows how the band’s legacy still connects with rock fans. While newer artists push their way onto the charts, Fleetwood Mac continues to stand alongside them with music that remains in demand.

Movement Across Billboard Lists

Rumours is also making progress on other Billboard charts. On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally, the set jumps from No. 4 to No. 2, nearly taking over another top position. On the Vinyl Albums chart, it returns to the top 10 at No. 9, proving its strength in physical sales.

The album also improves on the all-genre Billboard 200, moving from No. 21 to No. 17. At the same time, it slips on the Top Album Sales chart, falling five spots to No. 25. Even with that drop, its overall performance shows a record that continues to move listeners decades after its release.
