This summer, Ozzy Osbourne is being honored in a long overdue way. Working Class Hero, the first official exhibition dedicated to the Prince of Darkness, will open on June 25 at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. The free exhibition runs through September 28, giving fans plenty of time to explore the heavy metal icon’s life and legacy.

A press statement promises fans an up-close look at Ozzy’s greatest honors. The display will feature his Grammy Awards, MTV accolades, Hollywood Walk of Fame star, Birmingham Walk of Stars honor, and his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. You’ll also see a wall of gold and platinum records, plus rare video and photography that show how a working-class kid from Aston became one of rock’s most legendary figures.

And it doesn’t stop there. Birmingham’s Victoria Square will host a free outdoor Black Sabbath photo exhibition, showcasing the original lineup—Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—along with iconic album covers. Meanwhile, a massive 40-meter mural along Navigation Street near New Street Station pays tribute to Sabbath’s seven-decade legacy, created by artist Mr Murals.
Sharon Osbourne reflected on the moment, saying:

“Ozzy is proof that no matter where you start in life, with passion, grit, and a little bit of madness, you can achieve the extraordinary. This exhibition is a thank you to the fans and the city of Birmingham – the place where it all began. We’re so proud to bring it home.”

Black Sabbath’s Grand Farewell Concert

As if the exhibition weren’t enough, Black Sabbath is going out in epic fashion. On July 5, the original four members—Ozzy, Iommi, Butler, and Ward—will reunite for one last show at Villa Park in Birmingham. This marks their first time performing together since 2005.

The farewell concert, called Back to the Beginning, features a dream lineup of hard rock and metal giants. Fans can expect performances from Metallica, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Mastodon, Lamb of God, and more. Special guests like Billy Corgan, Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Sammy Hagar, Zakk Wylde, and others will make appearances throughout the day.

Acting as the concert’s musical director is Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. He shared, “We have a very, very simple goal, and that’s to make this the greatest day in the history of heavy metal… there’s some huge superstars who are gonna be surprises on that day too. So, the idea is to really acknowledge the importance of that band in a way that the whole world will forever know.”

Watch It All from Home with a Global Livestream

If you didn’t score tickets to this sold-out event, you’re still in luck. Back to the Beginning will stream live globally from Birmingham’s Villa Park. The livestream kicks off at 3 PM BST on July 5, and ticket holders will also have access to rewatch Sabbath’s full set for 48 hours after the concert ends.
