Extreme has released their new single “Small Town Beautiful” taken from their latest album Six.
The track follows the release of “Rise”, “Banshee”, “Rebel” and “Other Side Of The Rainbow” which are all included in Extreme’s sixth studio set that came out in June. Six was produced by guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and recorded in his home studio. The album marks the band’s first new full record in 15 years.
Meanwhile, Extreme is currently back on the road in support of their album. The band is playing shows in the US as part of their 2023 Thicker Than Blood Tour.
Previously, Guns N’ Roses’ Richard Fortus and Bettencourt had an online discussion regarding guitar players who could perform with pop superstar Rihanna. Bettencourt mentioned that most guitar players he admires might lack the required musical diversity, and he specifically named Slash.
Referring to what Fortus recently said, he admitted that his choice of words was not the best when he suggested that Slash would “struggle.” Bettencourt then further explained:
“In mentioning Slash as an iconic Rock example, I meant, in general, a rock guitarist would find it not a struggle but feel like a fish out of water as a player. That’s all I meant. I’ve had nothing but respect and admiration for Guns N’ Roses and Slash. Apologies if I’ve unintentionally offended anyone.”
