Eric Clapton has officially added a new U.S. date to his 2025 concert schedule. He’ll take the stage on September 5 at Mershon Auditorium, right on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio.

Fans can grab tickets starting Friday, June 27, and the best part? All proceeds from this special show will go to Crossroads Centre Antigua, the addiction recovery center Clapton founded.

First U.S. Tour Dates in Nearly a Year

Clapton has already toured Japan, the U.K., Italy, and France in 2025, but this Ohio show will mark his first U.S. performance since October of last year. And it’s not the only one.

Following his Columbus stop, Clapton will hit several more U.S. cities in September, including Cleveland, Nashville, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, and Uncasville, Connecticut. While the Ohio State show will be a solo event, the rest of the tour dates will feature The Wallflowers as the supporting act.

Touring Isn’t His Favorite Thing Anymore

Clapton has been open about how difficult touring has become over the years. Back in 2014, he told Rolling Stone:

“The road has become unbearable. It’s become unapproachable, because it takes so long to get anywhere. It’s hostile – everywhere: getting in and out of airports, traveling on planes and in cars.”

He had even hinted the year before that retirement from the road was coming. Clapton said:

“When I’m 70, I’ll stop.
“I won’t stop playing or doing one-offs, but I’ll stop touring, I think.”

Well, he’s now 80 years old, and though he may not love the grind of touring, it’s clear he’s still not ready to hang up his guitar completely. With a few carefully chosen dates and a good cause to support, Clapton continues to hit the stage, only this time on his own terms.
